Honor 6X Review

The Honor company Launched it’s latest mid-range smartphone calls Honor 6X. The successor of last year is  Honor 5X comes with dual Rear camera and power efficient kirin 655 16nm processor and a uni body metal design.

Display | Design :



The Honor 6X packs with a 5.5″ full HD (1920×1080 pixel) display with 400ppi and 2.5D curved glass on the screen that gives premium look to the smartphone. Below the display doesn’t have any physical capacitive buttons . There is an Honor branding on the bezel below the display. Above the display a 5Mp front facing camera and besides that a ear-speaker for phone calls and have a proximity sensor and ambiente sensor and have a LED notification light.


The volume rocker keys and power button are on the right side of the device, the keys are made with metal . On the left side of the device it have Hybrid Sim card tray. It accepts two nano Sims or one nano sim + micro SD card. On the bottom of the device there are two speaker grills between them it have a USB port. On top of the device it have only 3.5mm audio jack and secondary mic for noise cancellation.

Camera :


On the rear of Honor 6X have dual cameras setup, a 12Mp camera with Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.2um pixel size , f/2.2 Aperture , PDAF along with a 2Mp secondary camera for to capture the depth of the image. Beside the camera setup it have LED flash light. A finger print sensor on the back of the device , which is located under the camera setup.

The camera UI is simple with toggle for both rear and front cameras , different modes ({mono,impact,ND,valencia,B lie Halo,Nostalgia and Dawn }) , dual camera mode toggle for taking wide angle images , flash toggle(auto flash , flash on , flash off) , toggle for still and video camera , shutter button and gallery to view recently captured images.


Other camera modes are beauty mode pro video that lets you adjust exposure value , focus and white balance in videos , beauty video , HDR mode , night mode , panorama , good food , light painting , slow motion , timer , water mark.

Coming to image quality day light shots are good with details of image. HDR shots are nice as well with good dynamic range and macro shots are good as well with fast focus. Low light images are nice as well low condition. Night shot mode capture perfect image even poor light condition.

Software :


The new Honor 6X runns on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 similar to the Honor 8. The company promised gives latest Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 . EMUI lacks an app drawer but users can arrange their adjustment. Users can choose wether or not to display the battery percentage . The recent screen has 2D layout .


The phone also have scheduled power on/off option so you can turn off in night and turn on in morning of day. Out of 4GB RAM available 3.7GB RAM out of 2.4GB RAM is free for apps and out of 64GB internal storage 52.1GB internal storage is available for users. The phone have a finger print sensor on the back of the device it remember the five fingers of you to unlock the phone. It have finger print gestures that are stop alarm , answer a phone call , quick camera for photos and videos by holding the sensor.

Performance :

The new Honor 6X smartphone Powered by kirin 655 octa core processor with four ARM cortex A-53 runns at 2.1 GHz clock speed and four cortex A-53 runns at 1.7 GHz clock speed. The processor is the 16nm FinFET+ technology. It is the power efficient processor and runns without any lags in UI must it consumes more RAM.

Battery life :


The Honor 6X smartphone packs with 3340mAh battery and gives brilliant battery life. On one full charge it gives full day battery even heavy usage such as using 4G , video recording , image capturing and gaming. It gives two to three days battery life for normal usage. It have power saving mode it reduces the GPU power consumption and screening  to improve the battery life. It also have a ultra power saving mode, it allows only calls and messages to increase the battery life. The Honor 6X doesn’t have any Quick charge and Turbo charging technologies.

Connectivity :

The new smartphone supports all 4G bands in india and also supports VOLTE. The dual sim cards supports 4G.  It has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n ac., Bluetooth 4.1 , GPS  and also it supports USB OTG.
